EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assists the director in coordinating the functions required for implementing the annual and six year capital improvements program. 2. Administers construction projects to insure that they are completed in accordance with plans and specification, all building, health, energy, handicap, and life safety codes; and educational requirements. 3. Develops construction schedules and monitors construction progress to assure that projects are completed on time. 4. Acts as liaison between MCPS, project architect, and general contractor. 5. Assigns staff inspector and mechanical and electrical construction technician for each construction project. 6. Supervises all inspection activities. 7. Reviews and makes recommendations to the director on all change orders. 8. Reviews and evaluates general contractors, construction managers, bid submittals and makes recommendations for contract award and subcontractor approval. 9. Assists in reviewing plans and specifications. 10. Meets with manufacturer's representatives and advises on the selection of materials for school use. 11. Administers warranties. 12. Performs related work as required.
