EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Programs and verifies computer operation of HVAC via energy management systems schedules as required by individual school activities, seasonal changes, and ICB/CUPF reporting procedures.Provides new floor plans to school personnel upon completion of installation of upgraded control systems.Provides new floor plans to Montgomery county government community use of schools so that new, repeat and special schedules will be properly scheduled in the upgraded systems. Works closely with the community use of schools supervisor to ensure all scheduled weekend activities are working properly.Ensures all CUPF schedules are entered into the schools by Friday of each week, if short staffed ensures that all the weekend and Monday schedules are entered in the system by Friday completing all schedules by the end of the weekend.Operates the energy management computer(s) to monitor correct operation and data output; observes school electrical loads; activates or deactivates HVAC systems and equipment in accordance with energy management procedures; test integrity of communications between the computer and schools; and calls up data as needed.Troubleshoots and answers questions on HVAC systems, equipment status, and room temperatures.Conducts energy management system audits to ensure proper functionality in accordance with current energy management procedures and properly documenting deficiencies to determine energy management actions required.Diagnoses mechanical systems via EMS assisting maintenance depot with repairs.Tests and calibrates equipment and systems.Evaluates/repairs mechanical problems as related to EMS.Coordinates planned work with MCPS departments and divisions to follow up on input work-orders and follows through to completion. Assists in training building service staff in the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of EMS systems and related equipment.10. Receives general supervision from a team leader and/or supervisor. May assist with the training of lower-graded employees, as assigned. Analyzes energy data to troubleshoot energy waste.Maintains positive relationships and customer-service focused attitude when communicating with stakeholders/customers in person or other methods of communications. Works with MCPS departments and divisions to increase energy-efficiency.Performs related duties consistent with the scope and intent of the position.
