EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provides outreach and actively recruits eligible families for the Prekindergarten/Head Start program. 2. Interprets the Prekindergarten/Head Start program to families by responding to inquiries and disseminating information. 3. Disseminates community resource information in areas such as GED, ESOL, food, clothing, and shelter, making referrals when appropriate, and providing follow up. 4. Provides support services to identified Prekindergarten/Head Start families and conducts home visits when necessary. 5. Plans and implements parent educational activities as needed. 6. Develops and implements individualized FPA's, by identifying family goals based on strengths, and responsibilities, identifying, developing timetables, and strategies for goal achievement. 7. Conducts EEEP Prekindergarten/Head Start registration interviews that include collection of required documents used to determine program eligibility. 8. Makes referrals to community service agencies and following follows up as needed. 9. Conferences with school-based teaching teams twice once a month to ascertain the needs of children and families. 10. Acts as a parent advocate encouraging them to serve as classroom volunteers with the program. 11. Uses basic keyboarding skills to enter data. Maintains effective record-keeping systems in order to report accurate and timely information concerning children and families. Maintains files and records. 12. Attends in-service training, conferences, and workshops, and monthly supervision. 13. Follows up on concerns from parents and staff. 14. Compiles monthly statistical reports of operations and activities to be used internally and for the division. 15. Performs related work as required.
