WORKING TITLE: Wellness Coordinator, Employee Assistance Program GRADE: 26 MONTHS: 12
SUMMARY DESCRIPTION OF CLASSIFICATION: Under direction of the Chief of Human Resources and Development, supports the goals and objectives of the Employee Assistance Program. Collaborates with all other MCPS offices to ensure that staff mental health supports, training and resources are aligned across the system. Facilitates the planning and implementation of group training focused on topics that support positive mental health for self and family using in-person, as well as, synchronous and asynchronous virtual formats. Active member of the Be Well 365 Recovery Education Committee (Strategic Initiatives Implementation Team). Increase employee engagement in the initiatives and services of the Montgomery County Public School¿s Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: This position requires knowledge of mental health and emotional well-being strategies and resources for employees including self-care principles and techniques, internet/mobile applications, community provider resources, workplace mental health initiatives, mindfulness techniques and work/life balance programs. Ability to prepare and deliver effective and engaging educational programs to small and large groups using in-person and virtual formats. Strong interpersonal communication and human relations skills. Ability to educate and inspire people to recognize the rewards of psychological good health and work toward achieving competence in personal health, wellness and emotional well-being. Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, google suite, web-based applications and social media skills required.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred. University degree in health administration/education, wellness, psychology, social work, or related programs. Minimum of 3 years of experience in adult education, skills and/or group training. Experience establishing and promoting programs to a diverse employee base with documented results. Experience developing and presenting culturally competent informational and training programs to a diverse audience. Experience using data to assess and analyze the effectiveness of employee wellness initiatives.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Designs, plans, and promotes employee and family member mental health and wellness programs and events.
2. Recommends and develops new wellness initiatives and programs.
3. Develops and assists in the communications to support wellness plans and activities through a strong multi-media approach to reach all stakeholders through available and newly developing platforms.
4. Serves as the primary contact with respect to communicating and administering day to day mental wellness programs.
5. Coordinates, deliver and support wellness education programs and activities in collaboration with other MCPS offices in order to maximize effectiveness within the MCPS workforce.
6. Reviews feedback from training participants and utilize the feedback to improve the session and/or program.
7. Provides administrative coordination, guidance and expertise on wellness activities such as the Well Being Matters Video Series.
8. Develops and implements outreach and marketing campaigns to elevate the awareness of the overall EAP program and related initiatives and trainings.
9. Partners with EAP staff to develop and implement tools to monitor and analyze the use and impact of employee wellness education initiatives.
10. Develops and implements tools to assess employee wellness needs, analyze results and create content and activities to address identified needs.
11. Remains current on research and trends in response to the changing health and social landscapes.
12. Performs related work as required.
