EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Works collaboratively with the M&O Facilities Manager and Assistant Manager to plan, organize, maintain, and manage the operations and reliability of MCPS facilities and general infrastructure systems within a regional service center.2. Assists in managing and monitoring grounds and helps establish preventative maintenance processes, programs, and facility inspection processes for ongoing review of maintenance work by agencies having jurisdiction.3. Assists with supervising administrative, skilled, and technical/support staff. 4. Complies and helps to ensure that all employees are in compliance with MCPS and DMO policies and procedures such as procurement, work orders, inventory, vehicle care, leave, SSPGS, safety, and security.5. Assists in hiring evaluating, training and disciplining staff as necessary.6. Monitors the safety and accessibility of the assigned facilities. Serves as a point of contact for site-based building service staff. 7. Manages preventive maintenance plans for facilities within the assigned region. Updates and maintains list of facilities equipment, including lifecycle and replacement cost estimates.8. Assists with managing the grounds care and landscaping activities for assigned facilities ensuring that all locations are well maintained and meet the standards set by the division.9. Assists with monitoring the work of external contractors to ensure that terms of agreements are met and that the work is completed satisfactorily.10. As part of MCPS and the division's emergency response team, essential personnel requires after hour and 24/7 on-call for response as needed.11. Assists in coordinating the development of work and plans with outside vendor or contractors. 12. Serves as the first point of contact for trades supervisors. 13. Participates in cross funcational Department of Facilities Management (DFM) workgroups, representing the division of maintenance and operations. 14.
