EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Establishes and maintains effective professional relationships with colleagues, school staff, local regulatory and safety officials, utilities, consultants, and vendors. Works cooperatively with others and accept direction from managers. Communicates in a manner that enhances productivity and builds respective relationships. Seeks constructive approaches to resolving workplace issues. 2. Supervises the day-to-day operation of mechanical trades' functions; assigns maintenance work requests and scheduled preventive work, which have been approved for completion, to the appropriate technicians. Coordinates work activities requiring more than one trade skill; supervises the planning, work scheduling, work evaluation, parts/equipment procurement, and work order/records completion activities of the technicians. 3. Ensures work in progress and completed work meets established quality assurance and control standards, or normal trade standards. Investigates work-related problems such as excessive costs or low productivity and determines causes. Implements corrective actions within authority to resolve work problems. Identifies opportunities to improve efficiency and quality of service. 4. Provides exceptional customer service. Visits facilities and job sites to identify/clarify plant and mechanical equipment work requests; to plan major work and resolve problem areas; and to inspect/evaluate work activities and completed work performed by in-house technicians or contractors. Facilitates relationships between staff and administrators.5. Assists the service center managers in completing facility visits and job site visits, work planning and evaluation, budget estimates, costs and labor assignments to maintenance projects, prioritizing work requests, employee evaluations, and other activities related to administration and management of the mechanical maintenance program.6. Meets with staff as required and conducts meetings as needed.7. Participates as a member of the service center's leadership team, maintenance safety team, etc.8. Ensures that all safety standards and requirements are met.9. Performs other related duties as assigned.
