Summary Description:
Under general supervision, operates various computer applications, machines, and material-handling mechanisms and techniques associated with industrial printing. Consistently performs advanced set-up and operations duties associated with one of the following major equipment categories: (1) duplicator/color copier, (2) lithographic printing/letterpress, (3) digital imaging/plate-making, (4) cutter/folder/collator/stitcher. Along with equipment operations, the work of this class includes maintaining a clean and well-organized work space, upkeep of personal work log, and inter-personal and e-mail communications with work group leader, operations manager, and customers.
Physical Demands:
Ability to move heavy objects up to 50 lbs, to sustain repetitive arm, waist and leg motions, and to stand for extended periods. Ability to hear and see moving equipment components.

Considerable knowledge and skill to safely and efficiently operate and maintain machines within one of the four equipment categories listed above. Working knowledge of Outlook, database computer software systems, and automated work order processing integrated system. Basic professional correspondence skills. Able to operate electric forklift, stock jogger, mechanical palette handler, and specific sheet handling and finishing devices. Skilled in the accurate processing of various written work order formats, and the timely assembly and packaging of document components. Knowledge of and the ability to meet the seven core competencies of the Supporting Services Professional Growth System (SSPGS).

Education Training Experience:High School or GED diploma required. Minimum of five continuing education, training or professional development courses (ie: MCPS-Professional Development Online PDO). Minimum five years of recent professional experience in industrial printing operations. Other combinations of applicable education, training, and experience, which provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform effectively in the position, may be considered.Certificate License:Valid driver¿s license required

Example Duties:Report to workplace according to duty schedule. Check e-mail messages and respond as appropriate, including business correspondence with customer. Retrieve and process electronic job orders from outside sources, or receive hard-copy Job Forms from manager.Communicate with manager or work group leader concerning appropriate file format, prepare file for printing. Operate equipment repetitively. Log work notes on Job Form, update Excel files with production-related data.Maintain timesheet and personal work log.Perform all duties of PEO I as required and related duties as assigned.
