EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinates the following programs; new service worker training course, facilitate internships with Edison Automotive program, continuous vehicle repair plans, technical diagnostic repair procedures, etc¿Coordinates preventive maintenance programs. Dedicated training instructor for incoming employees. Develop beginner¿s course for service workers to ensure a streamlined transition from training to work on the floor. Create curriculum that will cover servicing and repair standards, technical tool usage, and vehicle and component recognition. Help recruit new employees from various technical schools.Assist fleet maintenance manager in preparing and reviewing specifications on all vehicle bids; training; testing and evaluating new vehicles, shop and safety equipment, and new and/or improved school bus equipment that will enhance safety of the bus. Analyze repair and labor rate data to determine standard operating procedures for all five repair shops. Operate as a mobile technician to support five repair shops in preventive maintenance and technical diagnostic procedures. Work with outside vendors to ensure Fleet Maintenance repair procedures and technical tools are up-to-date. Develop and direct continuous Fleet Maintenance employee training to advance skills and knowledge.May supervise employees performing work related to vehicle service and repair, shop/depot facilities, and special projectsUnderstands and applies principles of performance evaluation and professional growth standards for employees.Performs related duties consistent with the scope and intent of the position.
