EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assigns and supervises the work of building service personnel and assists in the cleaning and general upkeep of DOT transportation facilities.Inspects transportation buildings and grounds to assure continuance of: acceptable standards of cleanliness and sanitation. Identifies and submits work order request for needed repairs or makes emergency repairs and/or adjustments where possible.Work with MCPS staff, as well as outside vendors, to evaluate, design and build special projectsLead equipment trainer for all DOT facility repair equipment. Work with vendors to source proper PPE and training certifications.Advises staff on the efficient and productive use of materials and manpower by instructing employees in the proper use of time, supplies and equipment.Serves as a mobile maintenance technician for all DOT facilities.Repairs or replaces defective switches, outlets, and incandescent and fluorescent light fixtures; Inspects and repairs defective wiring.Department liaison to Division Maintenance Operations (DMO).Coordinate work on special projects for DOT maintained vehicles.Requisitions and distributes supplies. Documents and reports employees' work hours.Evaluates work performance of staff subordinates. Understands and applies principles of performance evaluation and professional growth standards for employees.Performs related duties consistent with the scope and intent of the position.
