EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Observes bus operators/attendants within assigned cluster, ensuring conformity to safe driving practices, established routes, and prescribed schedules. 2. Completes assigned run each day and fills in other runs as needed. 3. Operates a bus in unusual or emergency situations. 4. Maintains an on-the-road presence at all assigned schools and service areas in the assigned set of clusters. 5. Ensures that all employees in their assigned clusters maintain the COMAR requirements each year. 6. Performs human relations functions, including employee relations issues and counseling customers, staff, parents and students. 7. Conducts periodic team meetings for bus operators and attendants, school safety assemblies at designated schools, annual bus route reviews, and investigations of unsafe route conditions. 8. Conducts random, reasonable suspicion, and post-accident drug testing. 9. Conducts behind-the-wheel evaluations and instructs safety best practices. 10. Facilitates communication within the team and the depot. 11. Investigates accidents, makes recommendations regarding preventability and conducts post- accident conferences to debrief. 12. Dispatches when necessary. 13. Performs related work as required.
