The Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) Maryland School Performance Program (MSPP) Report includes information about the Maryland School Assessment (MSA), Independence Mastery Assessment Program (IMAP), Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP), attendance and graduation rates, and the professional qualifications of teachers.
The information is presented on 1 page per school, with summaries for the county and state. Although MCPS prints its own MSPP report, the pages contained within are published by the Maryland State Department of Education. For more information, see the MSDE School Performance Program web site.

This 2003 Maryland Report Card includes information about your child’s school, your local school system and the state. In it you will find the results from the Maryland School Assessment (MSA), information about the adequate yearly progress (AYP) measures required by the federal No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB), and information about the credentials of our teachers.
The 2003 MSA complies with NCLB and replaces the MSPAP, our primary measure of accountability since 1993. The MSA provides accurate, useful, and timely individual student information to determine if students make adequate yearly progress on the whole and in the following subgroups: African American, American Indian, Asian, Hispanic, White, FARM (students receiving free and reduced meals), LEP (limited English proficient students), and special education. The 2003 MSA was administered in grades 3, 5, 8, and 10 for reading and for mathematics. The end-of-course geometry test is the MSA for grade 10 mathematics. In school year 2003-2004, the MSA will also be administered in grades 4, 6, and 7. The standards of proficient performance for the MSA were adopted by the State Board of Education in July 2003 through a process involving parents, teachers, and principals.
