The 21st Century Community Learning Centers Program (21st CCLC) in Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) provides cultural arts and recreational activities to students during out-of-school times at ten Title I schools. Results of the evaluation showed that participation in the 21st CCLC Program was associated with better attendance at the morning academic program. In addition, survey results from students, parents, and artists who teach in the program suggest that the 21st CCLC Program is providing opportunities for students to learn and develop new interests.
