2008 Advanced Placement Exam Results

Description:

This performance update describes the advanced placement (AP) exam m participation and performance between 2004 and 2008 for students in the Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) compared with public school students in Maryland and the nation. The state and national data provide a context for interpreting trends in the MCPS AP participation and performance.

Recommendations:

  • Use Tables A1 to A4 of the performance update to inform discussions about the reasons for differences in exam taking and performance among groups of students enrolled in different school districts and schools.
  • Use Tables B1 to B16 to compare performance among student groups and high schools in the patterns of 2008 AP exam participation and performance by subject.
