This performance update describes changes in ACT and SAT test taking patterns among Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) and graduates in the Classes of 2006 to 2008.
Recommendations:
Comparisons of SAT and ACT test scores are problematic because the scores are not statistically equivalent. One way of comparing relative performance is to examine standard deviation (SD) differences in group mean scores on the ACT (SD = 5) and SAT (SD = 300).
