In school year 2013, the percentage of primary students who met or exceeded grade-level reading benchmarks on the Montgomery County Public Schools' (MCPS) Assessment Program in Primary Reading (AP-PR) remained steady for kindergarten students and had a small decrease for students in Grades 1 and 2, compared to the previous year. The proportion of kindergartners who achieved proficiency at Text Level 6 showed a small decrease for all racial/ethnic groups except for those identified as two or more races.
