Dear Clarksburg Elementary School Family:

We are sending this letter to inform you that your student has been identified as a close contact of an individual at Clarksburg Elementary School who was last on-site on Friday, September 24 and tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19) on Sunday, September 26.? We were informed of the positive test result on Monday, September 27.  We wish the individual well and look forward to their safe return once they have been medically cleared.  

Based on CDC guidance regarding close contacts, your student must self-quarantine for 10 days from Friday, September 24 and may return to school on Tuesday, October 5, as long as they do not test positive or develop symptoms during the quarantine period.  

Students may not participate in any on-site activities, including athletics, during the quarantine period.  We encourage families to have their child tested for COVID-19.  Students must complete the full 10-day quarantine period regardless of COVID-19 test results.  You should expect a call from the Department of Health regarding additional contact tracing information and directives for ensuring health and safety within the community. 

If at any time during self-quarantine your student or a family member develops COVID-19 symptoms such as fever, cough, shortness of breath, loss of taste or smell, or other coronavirus signs of illness, you should immediately contact your healthcare provider, get tested for COVID-19, and notify your school prior to returning on-site.
