CollegeTracks Program Receives Cooke Grant

January 20, 2006
The Bethesda-Chevy Chase Educational Foundation CollegeTracks program will be able to expand its services to students, thanks to a $95,000 grant from the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation. CollegeTracks is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to give information, inspiration, and assistance to Montgomery County students at risk of not attending college. The program offers financial and academic counseling, test preparation, and career guidance.

CollegeTracks has provided assistance to approximately 150 students at Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School for the past three years. The grant has allowed the organization to hire staff and expand its outreach to more students. It will continue to provide college access services at Bethesda-Chevy Chase and expand those services, as well as early awareness activities, to students at Wheaton High School.
