As a result of a projected increase of seven percent in expenditures for the school food services program, the Board of Education approved meal prices for the 2000-2001 school year that reflect a five cent (three percent) increase in the price of lunch and a five cent increase in the price of milk. The price of breakfast will remain the same as the previous school year.

Although measures are being implemented to continue to reduce operating costs, the change in lunch cost is necessary to cover increases in expenses for food and supplies, to cover labor-related charges due to enrollment and program growth, and to meet the employee contractual agreement.

The following school meal prices will be in effect beginning September 5, 2000:
