Cornerstone Ceremony to Mark Completion of House Built by High School Students in Construction Trades Program

October 5, 1999
More than 200 students at the Thomas Edison High School of Technology will be recognized at a cornerstone ceremony marking their completion of a student-built house in the Connecticut Avenues Estates community in Silver Spring.

Building construction students at Edison did the masonry, carpentry, electricity, plumbing, heating and air conditioning for the house, which is already under sales contract.

This is the 28th house built by students in the construction program in cooperation with the Montgomery County Students Construction Trades Foundation, Inc. Members of the foundation are leaders in the building and real estate field who provide their expertise and guidance to the building projects.

The ceremony will take place on Tuesday, October 5, at 6:30 12933 Dean Road in Silver Spring. The Connecticut Avenue Estates subdivision is at the corner of Connecticut Avenue and Dean Road.
