An exceptional MCPS teacher will be selected for recognition and a $3,000 award in the annual Agnes Meyer Outstanding Teacher Awards program sponsored by The Washington Post.

One teacher from each of the 19 public school systems in the Washington metropolitan area, plus one teacher representing private schools, will be honored in the awards program, which was established to recognize excellence in teaching, encourage creative and quality instruction, and contribute in a substantive way to the improvement of education in the Washington area.
