UPDATE: Please note that the August 10 special education staffing plan meeting has been rescheduled for Tuesday, August 24, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The meeting will be held in the cafeteria of the Carver Educational Services Center (CESC).

The Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) FY 2006 Special Education Staffing Plan Committee will hold two additional public work sessions to review the FY 2005 Special Education Staffing Plan; receive information regarding the FY 2006 MCPS budget, enrollment projections, and anticipated special education program needs; receive public input; and make recommendations for priority improvements to be considered for the FY 2006 budget. An initial public meeting was held on July 14.

The Committee will meet in room 114 at the Carver Educational Services Center, 850 Hungerford Drive, Rockville, Maryland 20850, on:

· Monday, July 26, 2004, from 4:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. - Public Comments
· Tuesday, August 10, 2004, from 12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.

All meetings are open to the public, but the Committee will receive public comments regarding the FY 2006 Special Education Staffing Plan at the July 26, 2004, meeting only. Individuals who wish to provide input to the Committee should contact Laura O'Neill by calling 301-279-3135 to sign up for a three-minute time slot for the July 26 meeting. Individuals who provide oral comments should bring a written summary to submit at the meeting.
