International Admissions Office Holds Open House
August 6, 2004
The Montgomery County Public Schools International Student Admissions Office (ISAO) will hold an open house on Monday, August 16, from 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. The ISAO is located at the Rocking Horse Road Center, 4910 Macon Road, in Rockville.
Members of the community and other interested groups will have an opportunity to learn about and observe the process that international and foreign students and families complete before the students are enrolled in school.
The ISAO is an increasingly busy office that enrolled more than 5,300 students during the 2003-2004 school year. The students currently enrolled through the office represent approximately 160 countries and speak more than 123 different languages.
Eight full-time and four part-time staff members at the ISAO assist families and students through enrollment and other transitions that come with being in a new country. Staff members themselves are from many different locations around the world and as a group can speak 16 languages.
For more information about the ISAO and the Open House on August 16, contact Ms. Nivea Berrios, director of the ISAO, at 301-230-0686.
