The special education staffing plan for the 2005-2006 school year is available for public review and comment as part of the process for considering the superintendent's recommended operating budget for Fiscal Year 2006.

The Board of Education will hold public hearings on the operating budget recommendations, and testimony can be given specifically about the special education staffing plan. The hearings are scheduled on January 13 and January 20, 2005, beginning at 7:00 p.m. at the Carver Educational Services Center, 850 Hungerford Drive, Rockville.

Individuals who wish to testify at the hearings may register in advance by calling 301-279-3617, beginning Thursday, December 23, 2004.

Comments also can be submitted in writing to Dr. Patricia A. Kelly, acting director of special education, 850 Hungerford Drive, Room 208, Rockville, Maryland 20850. In addition, comments can be sent by e-mail to patricia_a_kelly@mcpsmd.org.
