The Board of Education has requested community comment regarding its revised Policy BFA, Policysetting, which articulates the Board’s vision of a policy setting process.

The revision more narrowly defines “policy” and eliminates ambiguity regarding the meaning of the word for purposes of setting policy. Additionally, the revision eliminates the limitation on the number of Board members needed to comprise the Board Policy Committee.

Individuals who wish to provide comments should respond in writing by May 20, 2005. All responses should be sent to the Office of the Superintendent of Schools, 850 Hungerford Drive, Rockville, Maryland 20850. The responses will be shared with the Board of Education.
