Third Annual Champions for Children Gala to Honor Outstanding Contributors to the Success of Students

The annual Champions for Children Awards Gala on Wednesday, April 20, at 6:00 p.m. at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel will honor outstanding supporters of education in Montgomery County, including members of the education, parent, and business communities. The gala is sponsored by the Montgomery County Business Roundtable for Education (MCBRE).

Honorees will include the winner of the Edward Shirley Award for Excellence in Educational Administration and Supervision, Business Champion for Children, Volunteer Champion for Children, Supporting Services Champion for Children, and the winner of the Greenblatt First Year Teacher Award.

The three finalists for the county Teacher of the Year, all winners of Greenblatt Excellence in Teaching awards, will be honored, and their work will be featured in short video biographies. The highlight of the evening will be the surprise announcement of the teacher who has been selected to represent Montgomery County in the state Teacher of the Year program.
