The Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) Web Services Team honored individuals and schools at a recent ceremony with Best of the Web awards and recognitions for developing the MCPS Web site. The certificates were awarded for the first time this year, coinciding with the tenth anniversary of the school system's Web site.

Awards given for outstanding school Web sites were best elementary school (Fox Chapel Elementary School), middle school (Cabin John Middle School), and high school (Winston Churchill High School). ESOL/Bilingual Programs was honored for best office or department Web site. The best Web site award for a project or special initiative went to Digital Vertical File.

Twelve individuals received Web Builder awards for their contributions to the growth and value of the MCPS Web site over the past ten years. Two MCPS employees were recognized as Web Pioneers for their leadership in establishing the Web site ten years ago.
