Technology Students to Donate Computer Lab

November 15, 2005
The Montgomery County Students Information Technology Foundation, Inc. (MCSITF) has reconditioned and will donate a computer lab--consisting of six computers with operating systems, monitors, keyboards, mice, and two printers--for use by a deserving nonprofit organization in Montgomery County. This project provides an opportunity for MCSITF students to put into practice their computer skills and also earn community service hours, while developing a deeper appreciation for the concepts of charity and community involvement.

MCSITF is a nonprofit organization established cooperatively by the Montgomery County business and professional community and Montgomery County Public Schools. It provides a unique method of hands-on training for high school students to earn CompTIA computer certifications that will prepare them for higher educational opportunities or direct entry into the information technology job market.

Applications Being Accepted

Interested nonprofit organizations must complete an application and agree to participate in publicity with regard to the donation of the computer lab. MCSITF will deliver and set up the lab; ongoing maintenance must be provided by the recipient.

Interested organizations may obtain an application by contacting Judyn Rengers at the Trades Foundation Office at 301-929-2197, via e-mail at Judyn_a_rengers@mcpsmd.org., or on the Web at the link below.

Completed applications must be returned to MCSITF, attention: Judyn Rengers, 12501 Dalewood Drive, Room 1116, Silver Spring, MD 20906; faxed to 301-929-2192; or e-mailed to Judyn_a_rengers@mcpsmd.org by November 30, 2005.
