'Census in School' Project to Educate Students and Families about the Importance of Participation in Upcoming Census 2000

January 4, 2000
Representatives from the Bureau of the Census will join Superintendent Jerry D. Weast, Board of Education President Patricia O'Neill and other local officials to kick off the "Census in School" project in Montgomery County.

Curriculum materials have been developed by the Census Bureau to help students learn about the census and why it is important to them, their families and the community. The project also includes materials designed to increase adult participation in Census 2000 by raising parent awareness through the schools.

The event will take place at Gaithersburg Middle School on Wednesday, January 5, at 10:00 a.m.
