The Board of Education has requested community comment regarding its revised Policy BNB, Board Staff Management and Operations, which sets out the framework for the management and operations of Board staff, including areas such as hiring, evaluation, and professional development.

In addition to providing assistance to the Board of Education in the fulfillment of its responsibilities, Board staff members provide services to ensure that problems between citizens and the school system are handled expeditiously. The policy was formerly named Guidelines for the Work of Staff to the Board of Education.

Individuals who wish to provide comments should respond in writing by April 17, 2006. All responses should be sent to the Office of the Superintendent of Schools, 850 Hungerford Drive, Rockville, Maryland 20850. The responses will be shared with the Board of Education.
