The Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) FY 2009 Special Education Staffing Plan Committee is holding three work sessions to review the FY 2008 Special Education Staffing Plan; receive information regarding the FY 2009 MCPS budget, enrollment projections, and anticipated special education program needs; receive public input; and make recommendations for priority improvements to be considered for the FY 2009 budget.

The Committee will meet in the Board Room at Carver Educational Services Center, 850 Hungerford Drive in Rockville on:

-Wednesday, May 30, 2007, from 5:00–7:00 p.m.
-Thursday, June 7, 2007, from 6:00–8:30 p.m.
(Public Comments starting at 6:30 p.m.)
-Tuesday, June 26, 2007, from 5:00–7:00 p.m.

Public Comments

All three meetings are open to the public, but the Committee will receive public comments starting at 6:30 p.m. regarding the FY 2009 Special Education Staffing Plan at the June 7, 2007 meeting. Individuals who wish to provide input to the Committee should contact Linda Blum by calling 301-279-3166 to sign up for a three-minute time slot for the June 7th meeting. Individuals who provide oral comments should bring a written summary to submit at the meeting.

If you are unable to attend one of the three meetings and would like to provide written comments to the Committee regarding the staffing plan, please submit them by June 7, 2007, to:
