Applications Open for Automotive Summer Camp

FREE Automotive Summer Camp Open to Students Entering Grades 9 and 10
The Montgomery County Foundations Office is offering a FREE one-week, ½-day summer experience for incoming 9th and 10th grade students in Montgomery County Public Schools.
Students will have the opportunity to explore automotive careers and learn real-world automotive skills. Summer camp classes, set in an exploratory class and lab, are designed to challenge students and expose them to several facets of a career. Students may elect to attend either the first or second session. Transportation to and from the camp location is the responsibility of participants.
Camp Description
Automotive basics include safety; history; career information; an orientation to mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems; auto body information; and many more fun activities.
NO OPEN-TOED SHOES ARE PERMITTED FOR SAFETY REASONS.

Admission Requirements
Resident of Montgomery County, Maryland
Incoming 9th or 10th grade Montgomery County Public Schools students for the 2007-2008 school year
Registration
The camp is FREE to a limited number of students. Registrations are based on a "first-come, first-served basis." Information, with applications and forms, may be downloaded by visiting www.autocareers.org or will be sent upon request. Deadline to submit the completed application is June 27, 2007. Please mail to Judyn Rengers, Foundations Office, 12501 Dalewood Drive, Silver Spring, MD 20906; email to judyn_a_rengers@mcpsmd.org or fax to 301-929-2192. Students chosen for this summer camp will be notified by Friday, June 29.
The Foundations Automotive Summer Camp is sponsored by the Montgomery County Foundations Office, in collaboration with Montgomery County Public Schools.
