Business Executives and School Principals to Share Management and Leadership Experiences during Executive Shadow Week

March 16, 2000
Principals and leading business executives will share on-the-job work experiences from March 16 through 22 during the fourth annual Executive Shadow program, which will culminate in a networking session to discuss workforce strategies.

From March 16th through 22nd, a number of participating executives and principals from elementary, middle and high schools will "shadow" each other for a day by spending the earlier part of the day as host in their school or business and part of the day as visitor, so that each is able to become familiar with the duties and challenges of the other. Each pairing is designing an individual agenda for the day and scheduling when time will be spent at the school and at the place of business.

The networking session will take place on Wednesday, March 22, at 3:30 p.m. at the Hewlett Packard corporate offices at 2101 Gaither Road in Rockville. The discussion will focus on ways the business and education communities can expand their partnerships and continue to develop strategies that address current and future workforce issues.

The fourth annual Executive Shadow program is sponsored by the Greater Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce, Montgomery County Workforce Development Corporation, Career Connections, Leadership Montgomery and Montgomery County Public Schools.
