Board of Education Seeks Public Comment on Proposed Revisions to Student Discipline Policy

The Montgomery County Board of Education is seeking public comment on proposed revisions to Policy JGA, Student Discipline.  This policy has been updated to align with new state regulations and affirms the Board’s commitment to a disciplined learning environment that is safe, positive and respectful; increases student engagement and achievement; and prevents student misbehavior before it occurs.

Revisions to Policy JGA also align with school discipline guidelines recently released by the U.S. Department of Education and the U.S. Department of Justice.

draft policy is available on the MCPS website or can be obtained by calling the Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) Department of Public Information and Web Services at 301-279-3391.
