Summer Career Camps to Offer Opportunities to Combine Fun with Exploration of Career Options
The five-day camps will provide hands-on activities that allow participants to explore careers including auto body, automotive technician, construction trades, cosmetology, culinary arts, electronics/robotics, entrepreneurship, fire science (firefighting/emergency medical technician), graphics, horticulture and Web design.
Students have the option of attending a camp at Thomas Edison High School of Technology from June 25-29, one at Gaithersburg High School from July 9-13, or both. Participants attend two classes daily from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Classes are filled on a first-come, first-served basis, with class size limited to 20 students. Transportation is the responsibility of the participants.
Application forms are available at all MCPS elementary and middle school guidance offices. Deadline for accepting applications is March 30. Tuition is $75 for one week, and tuition assistance is available.
