Conference to Focus on Career Development for Students, Recognition of Career and Technology Educators

The Montgomery County Public Schools Division of Career and Technology Education, in collaboration with Booz-Allen Hamilton and the Montgomery County Chamber Workforce Corporation, is sponsoring the "Career Futures Celebration: Creating the Future for All Children." This conference of Maryland career and technology educators will focus on ways to increase students' career awareness, improve opportunities for students and maximize instructional effectiveness.

The conference will take place on May 4th and 5th at the Radisson Hotel, 210 Holiday Court in Annapolis.

Highlights of the conference include the presentation of awards to outstanding career and technology educators and keynote speech by Washington Post columnist Bob Levey (Friday, May 4, at 7:30 p.m.) and a presentation by Stephen Lundin, author of Fish (Saturday, May 5, at 12:30 p.m.).

Among the award winners are the Montgomery County Business Roundtable for Education (Community Advocate Award), Montgomery County Students Automotive Trades Foundation (Business Partnership Award), and the North Star Technology Program at Damascus High School (Program Integration Excellence Award).
