A proposed policy (JEE) on student transfers has been tentatively adopted for community comment by the Board of Education. A copy of the document is available as a PDF file for public review and consideration.

Policy JEE, Student Transfers, would establish the limited circumstances under which students may be granted a transfer. This would apply to transfers to attend a school other than the student's home school or the school assigned in accordance to a student's Individual Educational Plan. Such transfers may be permitted in cases of documented unique hardship.

Comments about the proposed policy should be provided in writing by February 7, 2002. All responses should be sent to the Office of the Superintendent of Schools, 850 Hungerford Drive, Rockville, Maryland 20850. The responses will be shared with the Board of Education.
