The Montgomery County Board of Education will hold its regular business meeting on Thursday, July 16, 2026. Please note that special celebrations will begin early at 3:30 p.m., followed by the official opening of the business meeting at 4:00 p.m.

The meeting will be held at 15 West Gude Drive, Rockville, Maryland.

    • Recognition of the Scripps National Spelling Bee Participant: The Board will honor Robert Frost Middle School student Lauren Merillana, who represented MCPS and placed 10th at the 98th Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C.
    • Recognition of Emmy Award-Winning Video: The Board will recognize MCPS multimedia producer/director Bryan Babcock and participating students for receiving a Capital Emmy Award for their educational production, Unleashing Potential—Future Ready.

    • Elementary Schools Boundary Study Preview: An oral discussion previewing upcoming countywide boundary considerations.
