Class size guidelines for Fiscal Year (FY) 2009 and FY 2017 are as follows:

It is important to note that when the FY 2016 reduction was taken in secondary schools, we did not change the class sizes but did change the formula to allocate staffing to schools. This was because the changes we differentiated so that higher Free and Reduced-price Meals Systems (FARMS) schools had a formula change equal to .5 full-time equivalent (FTE) and lower FARMS schools had a formula change equal to 1.0 FTE. The calculations below represent reinstating the formulas from FY 2009.

These calculations are based on FY 2017 projections by school and grade level and only take into account the reductions for class sizes guidelines. They do not account for other reductions that occurred since FY 2009.
