EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Facilitates A/E staff in obtaining LEED Silver Certification for all modernizations and new schools, meeting both county and state green building requirements. Coordinates LEED project reviews with A/E teams, project architects, consultants, and clients. Tracks, measures and reports key sustainability performance metrics across MCPS projects. Monitors LEED rating system changes, denied credits, and rule interpretations and advises senior staff on same. Researches green products and approaches and provide opportunities for evaluation by Design Team. Assists in arranging for demonstration of promising technologies. Reviews, edits and drafts sustainability-related sections of the Division of Construction's facility design guidelines. Research green products and approaches, and provide opportunities for evaluation for possible inclusion in upcoming project. Facilitate meetings for LEED projects, overseeing compliance with standards and advise consulting architects, engineers and DOC project managers and DFM leadership on process and best practicesMCPS Liaison to US Green Building Council for LEED certification of MCPS construction projects to satisfy county mandate (bill 17-06)Maintains compliance documentation for green buildings ratings and certifications. Performs related duties as assigned.
