WORKING TITLE: Performance Evaluation Data Specialist (Grant-funded Position) GRADE: 17 MONTHS: 12
SUMMARY DESCRIPTION OF CLASSIFICATION: Under the general direction of program supervisors, the performance evaluation data specialist designs and maintains databases for the collection, analysis and dissemination of performance evaluation data. The performance evaluation data specialist enters data into and extracts data from databases and prepares reports for use by the Director of the Department of Professional Growth Systems. The performance evaluation data specialist develops forms, charts, surveys and communications to gather data as requested by supervisor. The class uses software, such as Microsoft Office and Google, Excel, and Lawson, to analyze data and to develop spreadsheets, reports and presentations that provide formative and summative data useful for performance evaluations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Working knowledge of desktop computers and common software including word processing, database, spreadsheet and presentation software. Knowledge of data analysis techniques and strategies sufficient for analyzing evaluation submission data. Some knowledge of common office equipment. Ability to work with colleagues and leadership staff demonstrating the core competencies described in the Supporting Services Professional Growth System: commitment to students, knowledge of job, professionalism, interpersonal, communication and organization skills, and problem-solving competencies. Knowledge of and the ability to meet the seven core competencies of the Supporting Services Professional Growth System (SSPGS).
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE: Associate degree or equivalent experience required. Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred. Experience working with employee evaluation submissions, Lawson, or other evaluation software, and data analysis required. Training with data systems technology preferred. Experience using Google, presentation software and spreadsheets to generate reports and to make presentations. Experience with analytical software and basic statistical analysis. Experience with data entry procedures using a PC or other data entry terminal. Knowledge of Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) regulations (COMAR) regarding evaluations for certificated employees. Other combinations of applicable education, training, and experience equivalent to an associate degree, which provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform effectively in the position, may be considered.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: (Special requirements such as lifting heavy objects and frequent climbing.) Position requires operation of keyboard devices and personal computers for sustained periods.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Designs and maintains databases for the collection of data needed for all performance evaluations. 2. Inputs, downloads, organizes, and analyzes performance data 3. Develops and prints reports. 4. Suggests relationships between data trends, MSDE regulations, policy, and COMAR. 5. Proficient in the use of computer applications, presents information to director. 6. Responds to data requests from director.8. Participates in training to remain current on data sources, data analysis techniques and strategies for developing and conducting presentations. 9. Maintains knowledge of COMAR and new related legislation. 10. Performs related tasks.
