EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Installs, maintains, and repairs a wide variety of audiovisual equipment, television receivers, public address systems, fire alarm systems, security systems, and interoffice communication systems. 2. Visits schools and checks operating condition of audiovisual equipment. 3. Services and repairs various school--based instructional equipment. 4. Diagnoses defects and makes extensive shop repairs to television and radio receivers and other audiovisual and electronic equipment. 5. Installs, maintains, and repairs electric scoreboards, public address systems, fire alarm systems, interoffice communication systems, security alarm systems, and electronic clock systems for automatic control of bells and clocks in schools. 6. Plans and installs CAN at various MCPS sites. 7. Fabricates and assembles printed circuits, parts, and test equipment under direct supervision. Installs, maintains, tests, and repairs a variety of communication equipment. 8. Installs radios, transmitters, and receivers in buses, trucks, and passenger vehicles. 9. Checks frequency modification, and power input for compliance with FCC regulations. 10. Installs intra-school communications systems. 11. Prepares diagrams and sketches of equipment and systems to be installed and prepares estimates of materials and time required. 12. Maintains required test equipment, keeps records of activities as required by administrative procedures and FCC regulations. 13. Performs related work as required.
