Dear MCPS Community:
Here are four things you need to know about the July 16 Board of Education meeting and MCPS’ plans for the summer and the 2021-2022 school year.
Mask guidance for the start of the 2021-2022 school year will be shared with the Board of Education and MCPS community on July 27. MCPS is working closely with local and state health officials to determine mask guidance and other health and safety practices that meet the needs of students and staff and ensure safety.
The Board received an update on PROSPER 100—Dr. Monifa McKnight’s vision for her first 100 days as interim superintendent. PROSPER 100 aligns with the system’s strategic priorities and highlights the commitments MCPS must make to students, staff and the community in its efforts to provide students with the educational experience they deserve.

MCPS will host a series of pop-up events throughout the county this summer. MCPS staff will be available at these events to answer questions about the 2021-2022 school year and more.
