Free workshops are being offered through August, providing a variety of information and resources for college and career planning. Whether you want help in completing financial aid forms, SAT and ACT strategies, or writing college application essays, there's a workshop to meet your needs.

Kids Can Grab A Free Summer Meal—Here’s Where to Go!
Summer meals are available to children 18 years old or younger. Students can enjoy a no-cost healthy and nutritious lunch Monday through Friday at various locations throughout the county. Check out the list of 2025 summer food service meal sites. No appointment is necessary. Meals must be enjoyed at the location.

The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is offering free back-to-school vaccinations for Montgomery County school-aged children at county locations through September.

Don’t Miss the Fun—Our Back-to-School Fair is Coming!
MCPS is hosting its annual Back-to-School Fair on Saturday, Aug. 23 from 10 a.m.–1 p.m. at Westfield Wheaton mall (11160 Veirs Mill Road in Wheaton). Join us to learn about the school system, along with county programs and services. Enjoy children’s activities, music, entertainment and giveaways. There will also be an immunization clinic.

National Merit Scholarships: Five MCPS students have earned college- or university-sponsored scholarships in the latest round, bringing the total number of MCPS scholars to 45 for this school year.
Bringing Home the Gold: Kian Dhawan, a rising junior at Montgomery Blair High School, earned a gold medal in the 2025 USA Biolympiad National Finals at Harvard University.
Honoring Pat O’Neill: The Board of Education formally dedicated its Board room at 15 W. Gude Drive in honor of the late Patricia O’Neill, celebrating her remarkable legacy of service to MCPS and the broader community.
