  Stars, Stripes and Student Voices

As we celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States and look ahead to Independence Day, take a moment to explore the MCPS Celebrates Many Voices, One Nation, an eBook commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States, and showcasing the creativity and perspectives of MCPS students. Through song, poetry, drawings and dance, students honor the voices, experiences and communities that have helped shape our country. View the eBook and celebrate the talents of our students.

Then, continue the celebration this weekend with Independence Day events around Montgomery County, featuring fireworks, live music and family-friendly activities. Learn more here and here.

Booked for the Summer: Flex Those Math Muscles

Booked for the Summer is your go-to guide to making the most of summer break! Packed with fun activities, learning opportunities and family resources, it’s designed to keep kids’ minds active and bodies moving before school starts in just a few short weeks.

This week’s featured stop: math! Elementary students can sharpen their math skills with brain-teasing puzzles and get a sneak peak at next year’s learning. Middle and high school students can work on their critical thinking and problem solving skills with an IXL skills plan or working through a curriculum packet.
