Maryland State Department of Education Superintendent School Visits

Maryland State Department of Education Superintendent Dr. Carey Wright joined MCPS Superintendent Dr. Thomas W. Taylor and a delegation of state and local leaders today to tour Argyle Middle School and Odessa Shannon Middle School. The visiting delegation included Maryland State Board of Education President Dr. Joshua L. Michael, State Board student member Lorena Wu, Montgomery County Board of Education member Laura Stewart, and Montgomery County Councilmember Shebra Evans.

During their visits, the leaders greeted school administrators and observed classroom instruction firsthand. Throughout the tour, officials witnessed how MCPS is implementing key strategies in classrooms to reach state and local target goals in both mathematics and literacy.
