Heading to a Game? Know Before You Go!

The 2026–2027 fall sports season is underway, and MCPS Athletics is excited to welcome students, families and fans to the stands! As we kick off another exciting season, we’re committed to making every game safe, spirited, respectful and welcoming for everyone.

What to know if you’re attending an athletic event:

  • Students: Bring your student ID or StudentVUE verification of your schedule.
  • Students from participating schools may attend with a valid ticket and appropriate student identification.
  • Elementary and middle school students, as well as high school students from non-participating schools, must have an adult chaperone who remains at the event and supervises them throughout.
  • Stay in the stands during the game and use designated student sections.
  • No backpacks are allowed.
  • Once you leave, re-entry is not permitted.
  • Follow directions from school staff, security and event personnel.

Help kick off the school year by celebrating what makes our games GREAT: respect, teamwork, inclusion and school spirit! Whether you’re a student-athlete or a fan, you help set the tone!

Being loud is part of the fun — but being disrespectful is not. Bullying, fighting, hate, discrimination, bias and inappropriate behavior have no place in MCPS Athletics. Let officials and coaches do their jobs. Celebrate great plays and show appreciation for the opposing team. Let’s make sure every student feels safe, included and proud to be part of their school community.
