MCPS Students Bring School Spirit to Burtonsville Day Parade

MCPS students brought their school spirit, creativity and musical talents to the 34th annual Burtonsville Day Parade on Saturday, Sept. 19, joining community organizations, families and fellow students for a celebration of the Burtonsville community. Read more.
Several MCPS schools were recognized among the parade’s top participants, including:
- Paint Branch High School Marching Panthers — Best in Show
- James Hubert Blake High School Roaring Bengals Marching Band — Best Band
- Paint Branch High School Navy JROTC — Best Uniformed or Costumed Group
White Oak Middle School’s Marching Drum Line earned the Best School Spirit award in its first year participating in the Burtonsville Day Parade.
Briggs Chaney Middle School also made a strong showing, bringing two groups of students to participate in the parade.
