Glenallan Students Walk and Roll to School in Style
Posted On October 7, 2026
Glenallan Elementary School students kicked off the school day with a fun and festive celebration of National Walk and Roll to School Day. Students walked together to school, carrying signs and enjoying music, balloons, giveaways and visits from community safety partners.
The celebration brought together students, staff and community partners, including Montgomery County’s Safe Routes to School program, Montgomery County Police, Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service and Montgomery County Recreation. Students were also joined by some special guests — Zeal the Safety Zebra, Sparky the Fire and Rescue Dog and T-Rec, Montgomery County Recreation’s dinosaur!
The event highlighted the importance of safe, active ways for students to get to school and the many partners working together to promote pedestrian and school safety.
