Purpose
Please see A Student’s Guide to Rights and Responsibilities in MCPS, the Student Code of Conduct in MCPS, Guidelines for Student Gender Identity, and Guidelines for Respecting Religious Diversity for up to date guidelines related to students’ rights in Montgomery County Public Schools.
Background
Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) students must be provided with a clear articulation of their rights and responsibilities so that they may gain a deep appreciation of a democratic society. This deep understanding comes through opportunities for students to exercise their rights and assume their responsibilities as citizens.
