Question#: 46

ANSWER:

Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) maintains a number of highly valuable partnerships with the Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) across multiple offices and departments. In addition to ongoing work with DHHS units, such as School Health Services, MCPS staff members participate on work groups, such as the Children Fleeing Violence committee, and support conferences including the School Community United in Partnership conference which is held annually.

DHHS is a valued partner in our work with students and families, providing services to our youngest students from birth, through the Infants and Toddlers program, through age 21 with Autism Waiver services. Innovative programs including Linkages to Learning, High School Wellness Centers, and Head Start are a hallmark of the long-standing partnerships and positive relationships between MCPS and DHHS. We continue to work collaboratively with DHHS at the highest levels to explore additional opportunities to align our work in responsive and effective programs and services. A chart detailing these partnerships is shown below.
